This stunning 13th century chateau rests in the heart of the picturesque Beaujolais country, just 28 kilometres from Lyon in southeast France.

The Chateau is privately owned by Lady Hamlyn who bought it in 1987 and then set about lavishly restoring it to its former grandeur. More than 400 specialist builders and craftsmen rose to the challenge, whilst hundreds of items were specially commissioned to complement the private collection of antique furnishings that complete the interior. One of the old French manufacturers in limoges made the blue and white armorial china, the glass, in 18th century style, is hand-blown in Alsace, the table linen is made in Northern Ireland and the silk for the chairs comes from Lyon; the result is a relaxed atmosphere akin to being in a private home.

There are 21 bedrooms, each one individual in style and the chateau also features a Michelin-starred restaurant, “La Salle des Gardes”.

Activities such as horse riding, tennis, golf and ballooning can be arranged nearby and groups of around 50 can also hire the chateau exclusively, providing the perfect backdrop for weddings and private parties.
