A beguiling beachside sanctuary whose raison d’etre is personal service and whose setting amidst extensive flower-filled lawns is totally conducive to relaxation. Thirty spacious suites - some of which feature their own whirlpools and plunge pools - form a horseshoe shape leading down to a natural sandy cove.
The suites have a very spacious feel with a comfortable lounge area, with a well stocked minibar and CD music equipment. The 2,000 square foot Thorneycroft Suite, complete with an oversized sundeck and large swimming pool, ranks as one of the finest on the island. A top quality diving operation, ScubaTech, is located right at the hotel’s beach.
Home cooked breakfasts are served on your balcony or patio by your own personal maid, light lunches are available in the casual beach bar, whilst in the evening, the spotlight moves on to Rhodes Restaurant. Gary Rhodes’ first venture overseas. Needless to say the food is sublime and the mood of the restaurant with overhanging Thumbergia vines is a treat.
“I am taking quite a few of my classic recipes with me and I’ll adapt them to use local ingredients. Ill also serve lots of seafood, but whereas in London I make a dish with halibut. plaice or Dover sole, out here I’ll be using flying fish, lobster or dolphin fish” - Gary Rhodes, before the opening of Rhodes Restaurant at the Calabash.
